Activity: Help Baby Cross the Line
- Materials:
- Any toy
- Time:
- 15 minutes
- Skills:
- Gross motor skills
Encourage your child to cross his midline by moving a toy that he is reaching for.
A baby will generally reach for a toy with the hand that is closest to the object. As your baby reaches for an object you hold out, move it ever so slightly to the other side of his body. This will force him to reach across the midline in order to grasp the toy. Crossing the midline helps with your baby’s brain development.
