Tell your child you are taking an imaginary trip and bringing an item with you: I am going to the beach and I’m taking ... a hat.

Take turns repeating this phrase, each time adding an item that rhymes (a mat, my bat, my cat and so on). You can record the items and then have your child draw a picture of each one.
